Limassol

Limassol, by far Cyprus's most exciting city, filled with historical monuments, exciting cafes and beautiful long shoreline, you certainly won't be dissapointed visiting Limassol. Why not take a walk around the old town and get a feel of old town life and the stunning architechture. There are some amazing dining opportunities in Limassol, why not try one of the many restored carob mill restaurants situated around the the medieval castle.

When it comes to accomodation, limassol has some of the best in Cyprus, hotels such as Amathus (Leading Hotels of the World) , Le Meridien, Grand Resort and St. Raphael offer amazing places to stay with landscape gardens and next to the beach. There are a range of room options, there is also a good variety of good value accomodation nearer the city centre for those wanting to explore.

Some sites and things to do we would reccommend would be:

Ancient Amathus

The ancient city of Amathus is one of the 10 ancient cities of Cyprus, set right next to the beach front you can get a real feel of what the city used to look like, with rather cheap entry fee and a lot to see. Make sure to drive by at night because the ruins are lit and look stunning. Also these are very close to a secluded beach pathway for a stroll by the waves afterwards

Limassol Municipal Park

Is one of the hidden gems of Limassol, bursting with palm trees, pine trees and other exotical plants it will give you a feel of the fauna in Cyprus. There is an assortment of cafe's and snack shops distributed throughout the park. While your ther you could also take a quick glance at what shows are on in the open-air apmi theatre. The famous wine festival is held here once a year usually in september time.

Dasoudi Beach

A very popular beach, with plenty of shade under the eucalyptus trees which line the bay.
A great place for trying out some water sports and the water is usually very clean. It has been awarded a blue flag in terms of its cleanliness.
This Beach is very close to a large variety of reataurants including the famous fast food chain 'Goody's' however some traditional taverna's nearby offer more traditonal tastes for those looking to get away from the fast food.
The sand is made up of almost entrireley sand and is a rather long stretch of beach.
The water is always very calm and it is safe for children to swim in these waters.
